Hi~ I'm a new member and I wanted to say what a snazzy place this is. It made me laugh when I read all the interests ('anti-typin liek dis' LOL) anyway! I thought I needed to come with a gift of some sort.

I don't know if the author was trying to be serious but as an Asian, I found that article goddamn funny. It made me laugh so hard I almost had tears coming to my eyes.

Angry Asian Blog
No one really posts on here (thank god those azn or not photo posts are over, wtf) but I found this recently:

It's pretty awesome and quite relevant I think. I'm still being a confusing auto-racist, thank you. Apparently at the quiz machine in some pub, in my rage, I shouted out 'WHY NO POUN?!'. The shame.

Edit: Another good site, http://www.thefighting44s.com/

ghetto AZNs at walmart....
yes, walmart. I've always thought small families and broke ass college students like me would be the only asians i'd see at walmart. just saw a group of ghetto AZNs at walmart yesterday buying some subwoofers and a pair of boxing gloves (no 40s? how un-real). the males, of course, has to wear black tanktops to show off their AZN tattoos and represent their AZN-ness. not surprisingly, the females are toying with their cellphones, while donning some $10 LV fakes and exaggerated purple, blue-ish green eyeshadow.

oh i forgot it was halloween.

bay area kids?
Hey all you people from the bay area..

On the chinese channel (channel 26), there's this little kids show featuring a chubby old lady and two puppets with really large foreheads. I've always wondered, is the old lady a man or a woman?

Adventures on the NJ turnpike
On Friday I drove from Philadelphia to NJ and on my way up the NJ Turnpike, I was directly behind an Acura with NY plates that read: "AZN 1117". I almost drove off the road from laughing so hard! Hahaha! Then to further endanger myself (and others), I did some maneuvering I shouldn't have done to speed up so I could pass the car to see if indeed AZN's (or Asians) were in the car. But alas, it was just an older white couple. It's moments like these where I remind myself why it's important to get a camera phone. Though I'm not sure how the quality would be going 65 mph.

Yes I'm new to this community. Stumbled across it and thought that I had to join.

Quick facts: female, straight, 17, Chinese, live in Sydney, can use chopsticks properly, don't do victory signs and retarded "I think i'm so cute" poses for photos, hate it when people say "You're pretty...............for an asian"

Well, yeah. Hi.

nothing serious
i went and saw the wedding crashers last night (good movie, almost makes me feel bad about not paying for it) and after a funny line about vince vaughn's character's 'first asian' everyone in the theater was laughing uproariously. i turned to the closest friend next to me to say something funny when i noticed that they were all pointing at me and laughing. what the hell guys, i dont have yellow fever. buncha pricks.

anywho, that was about it. im not new here, just changed my account name. guess who.

Question of the Week.

  • Just a curious question...

Do any of you hold chopsticks the right way? [Assuming you use them]

So I have my own way of holding them.
It can pick up food just fine.
But nope, if my father sees me using them in front of him, we would lecture me and show me the 'right way'.
Stubborn I am, I just ignore him.

I really hate asian people.

[No. I'm just pulling your leg.]

But seriously, everyone around here [which is chicago/suburbs] falls into two catigories. The FOBS kids and the AZN kids. The AZN kids being the ones who play DDR or ITG, breakdance, do the glowstick thing, and claim to be ghetto.

Which sucks, because both kind are sort of annoying and every asian person I know has singled me out as a emo kid, white-washed, and a twinkie. I mean just because you're not with one or either crowd; does that make you a twinkie?

I was contemplating being a stereotypical asian girl for halloween (wearing loud colorful clothes with engrish, knee socks, bangs/blond hair, carrying around some boba and a tennis racket, etcetc). Does that sound rascist to you? I know I saw somewhere online where this one guy wanted to be a middle eastern person for halloween and people flamed him. I know his idea wouldn't be very smart to attempt..but i'm not sure about mine. It's not like I'm making fun of them...(or maybe i am subconciously and don't know it).

I dont know.

  • I saw this community through someone's profile and said to myself 'I have to join!'.

  • First off, I'm seventeen, male, homosexual, Chinese, [going to be] senior in high school, residing in the Bay Area, California.

  • I depise AzNness so much. Because of this, I refused to go to the other school because I thought it was to AzN. But my brother is going there this year.

  • I don't have myspace, xanga, and all that funky stuff. Oh yea, rice rockets are the ugly pieces of shit I have ever seen.

  • Those loser male haircuts makes you look stupid. Typing uppercaselowercaselololol!!1!1!oneone is n00bish. And talking in your native tongue in public is fucking annoying.

  • And what's worst are those wannabe-fobs.

  • Anyway, before this start to sound like I'm hating all Asians, I don't. I can speak Cantonese, reading and writing is limited because I forgot all the stuff I learned at Chinese school [= . I want to go to South California for college, but you know those parents, 'Too far, too expensive, go to UC Davis, UC Berkeley'. I'm sure all the Californian teens know what I'm talking about.

  • PS: Yes, I love my bullet points.

Check these out (if you're bored)...
I'm new, etc. Let's skip the intro.

So, I was on xanga's blogrings and found some pretty AZN stuff...

This one is the worst - (this kid's like ten) http://www.xanga.com/home.aspx?user=pimpn_azn09

There's a lot of netspeak plus stuff like "ImMa AzN PiAmP" that I just don't udnerstand anymore. Honestly in some of these xangas, I don't understand a *single* word.

just got back from a cruise
..Where there were people from all over the country/world. I live in the bay area, so it's normal for people to be around asians, but it was interesting to meet people in like the midwest/eastcoast who don't. The two times people randomly started talking to me (actually 3, counting this little kid), my ethnicity was brought up. They asked me where I was from (california), where I was from originally (..california), are you chinese(yes), and other questiosn like that. You never really get those questions at home, because at school, people tell each other apart by their last names, and asians have been living in my town for decades. This one old couple told me that they have an adopted grandaughter from china and that she liked spicy foods. They were nice. and that little kid asked me how old I was and then if I was korean (no).

So to all you people who don't live on the west coast, do you get asked lots of questions too? Do you get asked any stupid ones? (someone who lived in missouri once told me that someone at their school asked them if they were communist 0_o)

In the media...
I'm also a declared whitewashed, curious auto-racist, but sometimes I fall back into the azn pride (pleh) train of thought. When? When it comes to Asians in the media. If Anggun (I'm assuming everyone knows her - she's a Malay ((I think...)) pop singer who released 'Snow on the Sahara' a few years back) gets her new video on music television, I get excited. I see her ads on phonecards, and that's exciting. I see her on French TV speaking impeccable French, and I think 'go azn representaion!'. And I'm not even that into her music. But I bought her album anyway.

I don't know if this is true or just mangled by the UK, but I heard that on Desperate Housewives, there will be a new, African housewife, because they were complaining about no africans on the show. Well... asians are on it sure, one as a housemaid who gets chewed up and insulted by Gabrielle (grrrrrr!) and the two others give the housewives a pedicure, and get an eyeful of some nasty chemical. Subservient positions. Great. Grrrr....
